Been going for a few years and building in popularity and hilarity. Plenty of prizes, pink T shirts and a good 7 miles of gallop round the reservoir and up a bit of a hill. Nice views and no tourists.

I'll second that, well worth a run. Free yoghurt too. Possibly the campest race t-shirt I've seen, mind - maybe it reinforces the "hard man of the fells" image if you don't care about wearing a t-shirt of a pink cow/ fairy type-thing?
Maybe "feckled" isn't a spelling mistake, but a sly refernce to the Father Jack style reaction you have when you hit the main hill around halfway?

I like this race
- even though when travelling there, you go past the back of beyond.. and then a bit further.. and just when you think you've missed the turn, there's the sign.
I thought the finish was never coming last year, I could see the dam but then it disappeared, then it reappeared. Agh. Entirely my fault for being so out of shape
The t-shirts never fail to get noticed in the pub after training.. and I think last year it was a gooseberry yoghurt. Maybe if I'd speeded up a bit ..I might have got a nicer flavour
Note to anyone doing it who hasn't before - don't leave it until 10 minutes before the start before turning up. It's a good walk from where you are parked to the race HQ .
