i was a member of shef virgin gym a few years ago - its how i actually started running on the treadmills - i used to come home and say - guess what i ran 3km - and my boyfriend who is from a fell running family tried his best not to look disdainful.
Anyway i realized i really really liked the running, so much so that all i was doing was oging on the treadmill - then i realized instead of paying £40/£50 pounds a month to run indoors, i could pay a tenner a year to join a running club (totley in my case - still haven't paid this years subs- eep!!)
You both running tonight at Totley Moor ?. I'm popping up just as a spectator though to see some of the forumites running.

another thing to consider as cheaper than the gym is British Military Fitness (they do it in graves park and hillsborough park)
