    Kimm 1984 - Peak District

    Hi guys

Wondering if some of the older amongst you may be able to help me.

I'm looking to do a bit of nav training with my partner for this years OMM, and noticed that the 1984 Kimm was held in the Peak.

Does anyone happen to have the grid refs for the check points?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    All the best

    Mike

Nice one Maragarine, I'll drop Grouse a PM.

Open to any other suggestions for stuff over Kinder way, have already seen the Kinder Killer and Kinder Dozen but preferably looking at something <= 20 miles.

If you Pm me your email adress I'll send you a DP 5 hour score event map approx 18 cp's and 23 miles best route. Starts from Midhope near Langsett but you could start at Fairhomes if thats easier

Hi Ian, Would you be able to provide me with that event map? Your patch is the nearest to me for any moorland stuff and I enjoyed the Grin N Bear It and the surrounds. Haven't forgotten the mandatory requirement for a case of Rescue Ale in exchange for the map

Re: Kimm 1984 - Peak District

Put's a smile on my face! Youngest brother and his mate had just returned from a very successful first ascent of a 22,500 foot peak in the Himalayas ( Serai-Per-Kush ... spelling? ) and feeling super fit had a tilt at the Score course on this event. They could not believe the score that they managed to amass on the first day, but thought it strange that they were first at the overnight camp; no-one else about as they pitched the tent. Then it dawned! They were not at the overnight camp; they had returned to the event's main start/finish HQ. The overnight camp was right over the other side of the Peak District - instant retirement - despite a superb day's effort.
