    Pyrenees in 7 days

Kilian Jornet's attempt at running the length of the Pyrenees in 7 days.
    Averaging 100km per day!

    Well worth following...

Is this roughly following the GR route along the Pyrenees (think it's GR10)? I was at the eastern end of it last year and went for a run up and around Pic du Canigou - one of the best days out in the hills I've ever had, way too hot though! Doing near enough triple the distance I did daily for eight days in a row = madness.

I'll have a good read once ISP speed is bak to normal - very slow at the moment.

Presume he has support. If he doing the GR10 route in 7 days, that's 130km per day.

700km sounds like the HRP but surely too much snow for the HRP so early in the year - that's why I don't set off until June 13th.
Just started to read the first link and it looks like it is on the Spanish side.

I think I shall enjoy taking 50 days over it, and all the support I shall have will be in my rucksac.

One thing is for sure - it wont be the HRP (high level route) in 7 or 8 days, too much ascent & at this time of year toomuch snow & ice...........

Judging by the maps, none of the route is on the GR10, it's all on the Spanish side. And only a small fraction is on either the GR11 or HRP.
Most of Kilian Jornet's route is on more direct variants that would require local knowledge.
