    Talking Cymru

We are off to beautiful Cymru on Saturday, for a weeks camping. Mrs sbrt may allow me to head off for a run/race while we are there. Any recomendations?
We will be staying near Barmouth on the south Snowdonia coast.

I am only a plodder and found the Cader Idris race tough but managed ok. Moel Hebog looks interesting.

    Tks

If you are in Barmouth, you won't find better than the Rhinogs, from Barmouth to Trawsfynnedd there is eveything there to keep you amused for a week, exploring the whole range of hills (in your own time). Have a look at the section of Meirionnydd round route perhaps, finding all the tops will test your navigation skills and be rewarding.

You will need OS Explorer OL18 1:25K you'll want 1:25 scale to navigate up there .

In fact I love it so much I am packing my sack this evening and heading for Barmouth tomorrow morning, will head North on the route and bivvy (no tent) under the stars tomorrow night somewhere on North end and return Saturday. Just poking about and enjoying the hills.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

Surprised no one's mentioned Foel Fras which is tomorrow from Abergwyngregan at midday - 12 miles and 3100 feet of excitement (see separate thread).

Nice pics, looks like you enjoyed it, and the goats didn't have you . As you will have seen, there's plenty of running up there to keep anyone happy for a week (though not so much fun finding the way in bad weather!!
