I'm assuming that, with there being a waiting list, it's generally a full complement on the start line?

Do runners get turned back / DNF?
It's very rare that there are even 500 runners on the day, even though the limit is 600. I know a few friends who got injured between the point of the entry details being allowed to be changed and I know people will enter and decide that week if they fancy it or not. Unavoidable, I guess

    It's not a real problem.

Patterns of "Did Not Start" are well known to RO and can be factored in eg the PPP race DNS data is well known and that is why they accept 1000 entries. Championship races where places are at a premium but where the land owner has placed a limit on the number of runners means the RO can accept many more entries knowing he won't be embarrassed on the day and that (almost) everybody that really wants a run can get one.

Airlines do it all the time.

MrRTS's 33rd race of his 50@50. Loved it. Few Photos that I took here while up the hill with Beau Dog. Anyone that wished to make a small donation to the Thomas Theyer Foundation please follow the link https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Nigel-Jeff If you would like the original message me with your e-mail quoting the file number bottom left of the photo I will send you the original with none of the writing on. Well done everyone. Thank you to the organisers, helpers and super friendly Marshals. Special mention to the lovely policeman on the gate and the really nice workmen at the development site.

Entries for Ben Nevis British Championship counter

Ben Nevis entries will open on the 4th of February at 12:00 noon. Online entries will be accessible via the Ben Nevis Race website. People who are serious about competing in the British Championships
must register their interest at this stage and be prompt to do so. The list will be closed at 900. Last year this took four hours. This year is expected to be much quicker. Those who are on the list will then be vetted and invited to enter. Those intending to compete in the whole Championship will be asked to identify this as part of their entry.

Buggers!! Long Mynd race day! Looks like I will be sitting on the computer while MrRTS is away racing at the Long Mynd. Mercia is going to be affected by it.

Depends who gets in. Awaiting entry list with baited breath! :-) You'd have to be pretty special to take Finley's crown though if he is on top form :-)

    Yesterday was a good day.

My wife gave birth to a little girl, and I got an email confirming my place in the Ben Nevis Race.

OBVIOUSLY the new baby dominates the headlines...but the other news was really great too...
