Hey up, having finished Tanky's (& not last!), I've set this as my goal for spring bank holiday week. I thought I was going to have to give up bog trotting due to a spinal problem. Physio has kept it this side of bearable, so I am having another year at it. I'm happy about route choices etc, but I would value info/counsel about nutrition pace, best time to start, a good time to aim for (I'm about 5:20 one way) etc. Also is there anyone who fancies coming along?
When Spring Bank Holiday Rodders?
I'm looking at any day from Sat 29th May to Saturday 5th June. However knowing that the PW will be like a motorway on Sunday & Monday (30th & 31st), probably best to avoid.
I'm hoping to have a go before then. Date depends on work travel etc but perhaps end February or beginning March. I'll post if and when
I'll have a few long recce's and let you know if I'm up for the double earlier than planned.
Having just completed the 4 County Tops I am on track for a portly trott at a double Marsden during Spring Bank week/ weekend. I will be starting & Finishing at The (Old) New Inn in Marsden & briefly touching the Nags Head At Edale. In deference to Bog trotters of years gone by I may even throw in Mill Hill during the return to extend the Kinder crossing.
