    yes, 98% of competitors seem to hoist themselves along the fence

    looks like a giant catipillar going up the hill

    i foolishly opted for a different path last year, thinking I might overtake a few and avoid the logjam....didn't realise that it puts alot more strain on the body not having a 'handrail' to assist...lesson learnt for me

    Is there a preferred tyre for the race ? keep getting different advice of "experts" ..

    The Schwalbe landcruiser seems to be the rubber of choice going off the 3pcx forum. Have fitted a pair to mine - good price too. 35mm.

    Mate gave me some scwalbe land criuser 37mm to try they seem very heavy ,but he tells me dont punture as easy....

    Cheap as chips, used em last year, no punctures, John Rawnsley used em for years and so did Jebby, the extra few grams weight will not slow you down as much as many flats
