He has his team to wipe him down at every pit stop ;-)
Well done Jebby, great achievement.
Thanks and well done to all esp all the fantastic helpers and John for organising. An epic day out and how come Jebby was only a couple of minutes down yet I was about 40 minutes down grrrrrrr!
Did appreciate the chap helping us and out bikes over that style, and it was great and very motivational seeing all the fabbo supporters en route esp at Ribblehead, thx.
Phew that was one tough day at the office. Almost 40 minutes down on 4 years ago, and I thought conditions were horrendous. For me I finished which under the circumstances was an achievement as I constantly had the gremlins in my ear telling me to throw the towel in, grrrrr, first time I've heard those since Etape du Tour 2007! Wind was that bad that it nearly blew me and me bike off balance a few times. Ingleborough summit was very very wet and windy as was Whernside, and on Penyghent I did feel my body temp starting to plunge, good job not long after I descended from the summit. 5h27 of constant rain and wind. I had nothing left for the last few miles on the road until as lass shouted c'mon lads well done.....lads, lads, who the f was getting a free ride sat behind me and hiding from the wind, grrrrr, not amused. So much so that I did him for a 1 second sprint finish apols/yay!
Moi, competitive ;-)

5h16 for me, brutal brutal brutal. My vision was going a bit at the end from being lashed so long, or some grit or something. I wasn't crying honest. yfrog.com/nwgvdfuj
Other highlights being pushed towards falling the long way by a sudden gust, just after the Whernside top. Several crashes, all nice soft landings. Feel like I've been through a tumble drier this morning! Some fast times out there despite the conditions - maybe it was dry for those at the front
Before the full horror kicked in

My vision went as well at times Idler. It is crap at the best of times and wearing glasses that kept steaming up and got covered in fog.rain wasn't helping nor did the tears streaming down my face from being lashed with wind and rain all the time... I really need to look at some sort of a solution. Tried contact in the past but don't get on with them

Oh boo! Well, last years will have to do till next year, if there will be a next year? I heard rumours of John Rawnsley retiring and it not being at all certain he has a replacement???? Makes me even more pleased I went up, started and tried to make it round... even though I was being extremely cautious in those conditions, not to get blown over and land on my recently dislocated shoulder again...
