    Today's bombs

    Okay any ideas. Working at a site and these were 20ft away ?

    Ah yes, the venerable Type 22a. Quite impressive for their time. Could shift a lot of mud. Probably leave a 50 foot crater. Someone has very thoughfully removed the detonators (hole in t'bottom) and steamed out the explosive (3 drilled holes in t'side). About as harmful as a worn out pair o'walshies.

    surely if your walshes are worn out and you try to use them on a muddy descent they will be dangerous?

    big ones!. Look like high Explosive to me....

    I take it these have been checked by the Royal Engineers (bomb disposal)??

    If not might I suggest.....

    They had been checked and looks like wheeze knows his stuff.
    It was funny though to be welding away and suddenly this guy in a grab chucks one nearby. They were playing the old lets wind the contractor up.

    I know who to call the next time we find one on Howden moors, the place is littered with them, They had 6 different tank shooting ranges during the war and when they find them we end up guarding them till the bomb squad arrives.
