    Re: The Druid Fell Race

Good race last night with perfect weather and a good turnout. I used it as an introductory fell race for some of our club who thoroughly enjoyed it. For me, it was my comeback race after injury which brought a gasp from a team mate as I tripped and fell headlong to the floor on a descent (but kept my strapped up arm in the air, throughout!). It was interesting running up with those cows - I thought I was at Pamploma!

Thanks to John Linley and Martin Cortrivend from the Pensby team.

It was good wasn't it? I think we had a record turnout from Helsby RC - at least 15. Yet again I was struggling uphill then passing people on the way down. One day I'll try one of these short steep races when my legs aren't knackered from the previous weekend's event.

Yes, we had 12 from Pensby which I think is our record.

Yes , nice night, good course if too steep at the top...these clwyddian hills are all the same. Liked the Mirkwood escapade on the way down, just knew I would regret getting reactolite glasses at some point.

Any results published as I didn't hang around?

Anyone know if there's any good camping near the Druid? I'm thinking of making a mini-break of it, finishing work on the Wednesday, doing the Druid race then continuing to the Brecon Fans weekend...

Should be a good turn out from Helsby this year: it's one of our fell counters again. I don't think my legs will have recovered from the Saunders, but I'll give it my best. I hope there's spot prizes!

My legs certainly won't have recovered from the brambles from the Saunders nor my feet stopped looking like wrinkled prunes from the bog hopping. I hope to have a good Pensby turnout, too, but feel I ought to remind them tonight!

136 entries tonight - numbers in double figures from Helsby, Tatts, Specs and Pensby so thanks to all for coming along to enjoy a nice break in the weather.

Jez Brown in top form finished first on a slightly extended route with Laura Bestow first lady - results will be out soon!!
