I stopped off at Wilf's on Monday
One I don't get to quite so often... Trading Post cafe, Gairloch. Not just for the food but also the view to Torridon hills & Skye (unless it's raining).
Some good choices here already - must get over to Barley again soon.
A fave of mine is Grindleford Station cafe -another with pint mugs -although tbh I've only been there after walking not running.
Great stuff, another good one is running towards North York Moors east coast and drop down to Whitby for a mug of tea and fish and chips from Trenchers. On the search for a new tea room this weekend, i'll be out on the moors again with my doggy if her paw has healed up.
What a fabulous thread, my love of cake is well known and when I haven't baked some of my own its great to find somewhere post run to serve you up with a nice morcel!
I only run so I can eat cake Oh...and drink cider
May I offer Bwyd Y Brenin, the most excellent cafe at Coed Y Brenin Visitor Centre. They also now have running trails going from there, which are steep if you don't know the area. Their coffee is fab, I do not know about the tea! Sandwiches are massive!
www.vlaevents.co.uk Fancy something different?
Why restrict yourself to cafes and tea-rooms when there is many a good pub offering food at the end of a long run.........
Great Thread Alf..... well done, keep it going... I'm taking notes!
(many missed & lamented too??? the original Coopers Cafe, for a start, in the old railway trucks...... + Twenty Trees now that's a heckin bistro with an appropriate name... )
Miss Muddy Paws Dad....
Not clever & often stupid..
I love the Glenmore Cafe on the Cairngorm ski road. Great bacon and egg butties or Apple Strudel!
You can sit and watch red squirrels feeding outside the window. Or even on the web....

What about the Woodbine Cafe in Hope?
Or the Ceilidh Place in Ullapool?....
