Thread: Jos Naylor Challenge - May 5th

Re: Jos Naylor Challenge - May

It still hasn't sunk in! Felt great most of the way round - all the training and a three week rest beforehand obviously paid off. It was a great feeling to run down to Greendale well under time and to find Mandy, lots of support crew and the great man himself, Jos Naylor, there to cheer me in.

My support crew were magnificent. We didn't put a foot wrong on the navigation despite thick clag from Arthur's Pike until Gt End where we finally emerged into sunshine. They looked after me all the way round feeding, watering, and encouraging me. Thanks to all the support crew and all those who turned out on the hill to cheer me on. It's a day I'll remember for a long long time.

    So, what's next ........?

    Yes well done Batman,

I'm still beaming, and all I did was carry your water bottle for a short section.

Truly a great achievement, and you still looked strong at the end.

    Bang on Awesome,

    Nice one Phil,
as had already been said, awesome!
I did hear a rumour that you were seen wallowing about in Coniston Water on a lilo the following day. Surely there's no truth in this rumour (?)

Phil, it would be interesting to see your split times.

I have to admit - it's true. This was a trial for the upcoming Krypton Challenge - a triathlon incorporating cycling, fell running and lilo racing. (mainly cos I'm not a good swimmer!) Once there's a bit more water in the rivers near Langdale we'll be setting a date. I have created a handsome trophy for the eventual winner. I thought the cold water (and it was very cold!) would help my legs but I'm still struggling to run downhill.

I'll have to get back to you on the actual split times little binnian - I'm not sure whether we're supposed to publish anything?

    Cheers
