    which bivvy bag/tent

can anyone offer any advice please, im looking at purchasing some kind of 1 man bivvy option, wether it be a tent or a bag, something that packs down to a small size to carry in my rucksack, and that will offer adequate protection against the elements when used in conjunction with my sleeping bag, whilst roughing it in the scottish mountains. Any suggestions folks?? thanks

Got my alpkit hunka a few weeks ago after advice from folks on here, tried it out on Bleaklow and had a great night, got clammy but not majorly so, it's pertex and described as a sleeping bag cover rather than a bivvy but judging by the alpkit site should be handy outside of the summer months, can't wait to try it out again, great price, have a look at it on the alpkit site.

Oh by the way, if you don't know I would recommend the Book of the Bivvy by Ronald Turnbull, a great read!

I would think carefully about this decision and ask your self are you after a bivvy or a tent? Bivvies are great, light, very versatile but a real pain to sit out the day if the weather turns nasty, a small tent would offer much more comfort for not much more weight. A tent could be used at MM where as Bivvy bag's are not always allowed if at all.

If going for a bivvy try and get an extra long one, I can get my Alpine rucsac in mine. it's a wild country alpine XL but there are plenty of good makes.
