looks comparable in weight and a bit more expensive that innov8 mistlite combo

I haven't got either jacket - but I've got mistlite pants - i find em ok - neither mist lites nor epic pants have taped seams (so are out for some MMs)

Yes I've got jacket and trousers. They are not waterproof! They'll keep you dry in a light shower but that is it. They are however very windproof and quite breathable and they pack very small. I don't take the top to races but I do pack the trousers.

There is a thread dedicated to this somewhere on the forum that I can't find at the moment...search EDZ waterproof and see what turns up.

I've got a pair of those inov8 pants. I have quite big legs, size 10 feet, and I got them on and off with no probs. They are a far better cut for runners than ordinary 'walking' waterproof trousers.

I've got the Epic fell suit. It's not water proof but, as has been said before, nothing will keep you dry when running. I have carried it since Fairfield and used it at Wasdale which was very wet. It performed well which is more than can be said for me as I got lost coming off Scafell, missed the last check point and was dq'd. I was lost and not moving quickly for some time before I sorted myself out and the weather was not an issue (apart from reading my map). In similar weather in a Montane windproof I got very cold. EDZ say the issue is not how waterproof a garment is but wether it prevents the wind cooling you down when you are wet.
Having said that the weather was not very cold so I am not sure about winter weather. It is very light and packable.
