Anybody got one of these?
Can you plug in waypoints to follow?
Would go for one of the cheaper ones, but I've got a Mac and the earlier versions aren't compatible.
Cheers

I got one last week, and it seems you can put points in to follow, but I've only managed to follow a previous route on it so far (not really bothered by it as a GPS, more for logging runs and as a HRM)
Garmin's software is pretty poor though, so might be worth searching for some aftermarket software which can do uploads better.
You can store waypoints but I *think* you'll have to tell it to take you to one, then tell it to take you to the next etc so you'd be constantly in and out of the settings menu. To get a continuous route you need to upload a course. There are a few ways to do this; you can download a previously run route from the 405 to a PC/MAC and amend it as necessary then upload it to the Garmin as a course (I think this has to be done via Garmin training centre but I make any route changes on mapmyrun.com). Alternatively you can set up a completely new route (again, I'd do this on mapmyrun as garmin training centre is crap) and upload as a course. I have followed a course successfully, it's obviously easier on roads with clear turns etc where as on the fells it can seem a bit ambiguous!
Cheers for the hint - been trying to get it to work on sporttracks with little success.... I'll give mapmyrun a go.
Just tried it, what format do you export from mapmyrun in order to upload it to the forerunner?

I think it was gpx.
I know I found out how to do it by googling though.
