Yes a great day out Pat we were evenly matched as you say. Interesting see from your strata log that the moving time was only 7 20 with the nav cock ups the time could be improved a fair bit.

Good work lads. 10K climb in that sort of time is a great marker

Thanks Andrew, I will have another couple of goes at it before my June 26th BG attempt. Next one probably around the end of March if anybody is interested.

Pat - why not have a go at the Kinder Killer as well? It's a bit longer, and another grand day out.

Done this three times now and I have got my time down to 7:53. Out for a reccie of the northside last night. and identified better lines from Kinder, West, the line up to Seal Stones and the CORRECT stream to follow up to Kinder East. That last one makes a massive difference, the ground is really rough around there. I was at Kinder East after 10pm last night in shorts and I could feel the warmth in the air. Spring is here!

Went around today. Started from Snake Inn. The first 6 were really good, but I was aware of the longer legs to come. A lot of bracken hacking at the bottom of Blackden Brook (as well as elsewhere), and a dodgy line resulting in some steeper-than-necessary climbing from the YHA.
Weather came in on Ringing Roger and didn't spot the cairn but was in the right area - the newer fences threw me off a bit. A half-pint of lemonade set me back £1.75 at the Nag's Head! At least they refilled my water bottle (after initially wanting to throw it away...). It was then claggy on top for the rest of the day, with it sinking nearly as low as Ashop Clough by the time I had to pick my route off the northern edge to the bottom of the last climb. River Kinder-Sandy Heys-Ashop Clough FB was a right pig, as I'd anticipated.

6:23 all told. I'd have liked to do sub-6 but got a bit demoralised just before Edale and from Kinder Low End onwards. Probably moving for 6h.

What's all this business with running? Me and my (awesome) MM partner walked the Dozen on Good Friday. (I'm not allowed to run any more ) It took us about 9 hours. We finished just before three chaps who were running and had apparently start half an hour after us.
