I wont be (sh) long, dear.
its slightly longer this year with a detour around Thirlmere on the road but it will be faster going so may not lose much time
Is there any tracker service, of any kind, for this?

Just home from my 1st TDH and what a cracking day it was. Really well organised event for which I would like to thank everybody involved...thank you all. Apparently the route was slightly different than previous years due to work in the forrest on the east side of Thirlmere. A new route was used taking us on the west side of Thirlmere along the minor road, this added about an extra mile, I clocked the whole route at 39 mile dead.
The weather was great for this type of long day out encounter, give or take abit of buffering on Sticks Pass.
The soup in the village hall really hit the spot...cheers.

My second TDH, really enjoyed it, lots of nibbles this year and good atmosphere. Ridiculous winning time too!
Once again many thanks to Joe and the NAV4 crew. This gets better every year. The post-race spread was spot on. I liked the addition of the chunks of cheese and cherry tomatoes to the soup, bread and butter, tea and cakes.
This was my fifth time and the conditions were the best yet. I expected far more rain that the early passing scuds we actually got.
I enjoyed some magical moments. I was the first one up Boredale and I had only deer for company. They were scattering in all directions up the fell or across the valley.
Tindersticks, good to see you on the far side of Thirlmere as you passed me. I was going so slowly because I was taking pictures, honest. ;-)
A great day out - and I ran a good race, so I'm feeling smug. Full write-up on runfurther.com, but no pictures (until Britnick sends me a link!)

Hi Andy, brilliant write up thank you for sharing.
Well done Nick on your 5th Tdh, good stuff.

Nice write up Andy. You say the lasy 3 years were benign- clearly you were not there last year waqding through thigh deep floods and torrential rain and gales in Glenridding etc. It is a great race and you had a superb run. I was slower than ;ast year but enjoyed my day out despite this.
