Hello,
I think I did this a few years ago and quite fancy a stroll this weekend, is there a map of the route or CP's online anywhere?
Cheers,
Frenchy.
I don't think so, never has been. If you look at start of this thread I put up a description of route last year. Not sure where Carl has all the checkpoints now, but they are pretty obvious as a marshall has to get to them - normally road crossings or trig tops etc. The event always started at Claerwen dam (when Nev Tandy organised it for 20 years) but this has been brought back a couple of miles to the chapel, which is better for the organisers (and saves us another few miles to drive). There's nothing to worry about :w00t:.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.
OK thanks, will get the map out, need to get a pass from the better half, hope to see you all there...

By the way, don't forget the kit list stuff. There was a kit inspection last year.

Is there an event website, where can I view the kit list, thanks in advance....
There's only the LDWA page as far as I'm aware, and the kit list isn't on it. Carl's phone number is though. The kit list is:
Map (1:50000 147 or Explorer 200 or Pathfinder 969&948)
Whistle
Compass
Torch
Basic First Aid
Sweater
W/Proofs
Hat
Gloves
Bivvy Bag
Boots or off-roaders giving good grip & ankle support
Food & drink for the day & emergency rations
Running shoes are OK, & there is water at some checkpoints although I don't know which. I only did the event last year when it was rerouted due to the snow.

thanks very much...
Looks like I'm going to be there, with my running partner Nick, who's a novice at these things... I know all too well what Moley looks like, good to catch up with one or two others from here.
