Actually I think you'll find it's one that Swoop 'borrowed' from the Clayton website ~ it's the race organisers map !

To be honest, apart from the FRA requirements of having to carry a map you don't really need one anymore for this race. Providing you can run 17 miles and climb 4500 feet in the process then I'm sure you can easily follow the path that is becoming more and more obvious with all the reccying over the past few weeks.

I'm hoping for full clag on the day then no one can see my quicker lines.

Aye, last year I found it straightforward to naviagte - I was mid pack though so I followed the crowd! Mind you, might be a bit tricky in low cloud...

I've a feeling that this will be well attended as usual. Hoping to do better this time than last year - really struggled and ended up pulling out before the last big climb. Nightmare! 1st and only time ever I'd pulled out of a race!

It's all too easy to set off fast and 'go 4 it' on the long easy section between CP1 and CP2. But the difficulty starts at CP5 where you have 3 massive climbs (and descents) to contend with between there and the finish.

Hope you have a better run this year jodg.

Ta Mapper. You're right, those three climbs, with each one getting progressively higher, are really really tough. I seem to remember Swoop ambling by at one point whilst I was dying....

Need to put my demons to rest so I'll see you there!

Oh yes, I remember thinking, 'this could be a good place to just lay down and die, right there next to that wall', out of the hail and wind.
Hopefully, I will be ready for those feelings of despair this time?
Really looking forward to it and trying to ignore the onset of manflu at the moment.

There is a Lancashire saying: If you can't see Pendle it must be raining. If you can see Pendle then it is going to rain.

Whatever the weather I'm sure there will be the usual stalwarts that turn up.

Just got back from a night foray on Pendle ~ it's clear as a bell but its very cold with that North Easterly wind.....brrrrr.

    Who's ready for Saturday then?
