    Hi BritNick, Mountain Goatess
Had a look at photo's in Norway, very good, I am now going to Rome for a few day's rest and to get away from the Paparazzc(famous, Ha!!!)
MG it must have been the other monkey that said you were polite, I don't remember saying it, but then I dont remember much after R/Head. One thing that I can remember which made me smile was a marshall at the stream near bottom of Whernside telling us to use the large boulders to cross the steam and keep oue feet dry and when you got to the far bank you landed ankle deep in mud. Now looking to doing Hutton Roof race Cheers

Stolly, I did London this year, 3:18, also did 3 Peaks, 4:47, so you can definatley add over an hour on to a marathon time.
Having said that, all my training was done mainly on the flat, so come the 3 Peaks I was well out of my depth really, was hoping for under 4:30 but the lack of hill work and still tired legs from London put paid to that.

I've just found some downloadable results on the Sportident website. http://www.sportident.co.uk/full_story.php?id=99

Last year Pike did some whizzy things in Excel to provide splits and positions at each checkpoint. Any chance of doing the same again?

One of my mates was over 2 hours slower on the 3Ps compared with the London Marathon.
I guess it also depends on where your relative strengths lie.
Personally, although I love and much prefer the fells, I'm better on the flat, so although I'm confident I'd get under 3.30 in a road marathon without much extra training, I don't think I'd ever be under 4.30 in the 3Ps, no matter what I did. 5 hours would be enough of a challenge.

Once I finished 3rd in Northern 20 miles Race Walking champs in 3h 0m 48sec
and the following day did 3 - 49 -12 in the PPP
But that was when I was young and daft!

I think the "special" thing you mention is patience.
