Out of interest - what time did you do for London? I'm quite interested in what time difference people typically expect between 3P and a marathon. For me 3P was 45 mins slower albeit with fresh (not properly trained) legs...

Ah sorry about that. I overtook 2 runners just after the road and before the pavilion. One of them may have been you. Glad to hear that I am not the only one suffering from 'post 3 peaks silly walk syndrome'. Walking downhill was a no go Sunday/Monday. I am getting back to normal now but I won't be running for another few days.

A steady jaunt sounds a lot more enjoyable so I am therefore retracting my silly sub 3.30 statement!

    Re the kit requirements...

I read in the programme that it was
    full body cover
    Whistle
    Compass
    food.

There was no mention of a map. I didn't carry one. I don't think it's possible to get lost on the 3 peaks anyway but was going to tear the map out of the programme but then read the list...

Yet the board at the start, which I didn't see until afterwards in a photo, said map..

Good one, found out I'm selected for the Welsh team for Slovenia, I think Rich Roberts and myself were automatic based on the 3P results and the rest of the Welsh team will be selected at a meeting next week, so expect they'll find out then. I think Gafr will make it too.

Great pics. Just a shame your camera doesn't have the PROOF setting

    Re: Three Peaks Fell Race

Re marathon vs 3P time - i ran 3:11 at London, which was a wee bit down on expectations due to a very hot last hour - most people I spoke to were 10 mins or so down on target. I think for a fresh 3P i'd hope to be an hour inside my mara time or maybe a bit more, but even without blisters my legs were suffering after half way. I've run quite fast 10ks and even half marathons 2 or 3 weeks after a marathon before, but I think a long fell race 13 days later was never going to be pretty.
