First day 440 entries, also new Face Book page.
I'm in, first time for me
First time for me also I'm wondering what approach people take to training specifically for this race?
I'm supposing or hoping i'll finish somewhere between 3:35 and 3:55. Usually when training for long races like marathons, I focus on lots of quick runs between 1:45 and 2:30, I don't really bother with anything over 2:30 as I reckon its just wasted time. But should I be considering a couple of really long slow runs for this one seeing as it could easily take me upto 4 hours?
Rev, I often run from the start to the Hill Inn as a training run for this race and as I live local give me a shout if you want to come over as long as i have no race on. am also free most Thursdays as well
thanks for the offer geronimo, don't think i'll get chance to get down before race day though maybe you can offer some tips on the route, is there any other cheeky limbs the unwary should be aware of other than the 3 big ones? How far betwwen peny ghent and the 2nd peak? thanks
There's a lot of running in it Rev. As has often been said its a trail race with three big climbs! Think Gisborough Moors but bigger climbs! Pretty sure with your background, as I understand it, you'll be ok!! Oh! btw...I'm doing it! I need to get some climbing in though!
