Also queued to climb stone stile, I think before High Birkwith check. Yes you
guessed it, those that couldn't be assed to queue started climbing the gate I waited my turn and lost at least a minute to the can't be assed brigade.
Yep I queue'd up at that stone stile, saw a few decide to jump the gate also, to be honest I wished I'd vaulted the gate with them. Just a question why is it so wrong to jump over a gate if there's a big queue at a stile? Runners jumping over gates has even made the cover of Fellrunner in the past so it can't be frowned upon by everyone. What is the FRA stance on this issue?

Its the farmers that don't like people climbing over gates, particularly gates that are right next to a stile

If theres enough people climbing over gates, gate will suffer, dropped hindges, then bolt latch doesn't line up, and gate don't work. Pissed off farmer, result your not coming over my land again.
Old adage only takes a few to balls things up for everyone.

Lastly if theres an obvious que and some are short cutting by hopping gate, then it leaves a nasty
    taste in my gob.

I agree. It bugs me that they seem to think we are too stupid to find a way round when we are actually observing the country code and respecting the fact that we've been allowed to run a race across farmland.
