Great race this, was pleased to stay upright all the way down, the pitch down to the scree was a bit tasty. It was a lot of hard work for less than a couple of miles, there were one or two looking a wee bit wobbly after crossing the line.
I found it faster my backside - provided you got up before the scree!

There has been snow on the Howgills overnight and they are still clagged in. Today's junior races at Cautley will run as planned, but there may be a route change for the seniors if the underfoot conditions remain poor.
The road conditions are ok.
Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.
