What do they mean by "warm full body cover"? Do you have to carry something like a fleece or an omm rotor smock? Or will thermals do?

Depends on the weather but like most races some personal responsibilty needs to be taken in to account, this is an all night race in the middle of winter, you could find your self approaching Bleaklow at 4.00am with a fading torch in a blizzard...? Now ask the same question...

Full Thermals is a start you need to carry/wear these, I take a fleece and a body warmer(In a dry bag) gloves and a pair of mitts, a buff and a mountain cap, sometimes a fleece neck gaitor and some spare socks(also in the dry bag).

Last year the weather was great, some even ran in shorts, I wish I had. The year before there was a foot of snow on Bleaklow, the year before that was gales and driving rain. It is not a place to skimp on kit, if you get cold you will burn energy quicker and let your team down,

This isn't aimed at you directly Dan but to any HPM Virgins..

to add, a few years ago a Dark Peaker broke his leg on the descent to Abbey brook. I believe it was close to 4+ hours before he was evacuated off the hill!

Cheers Ian I just ordered a dry bag off Alpkit before reading your post! A fleece and my down gillet makes sense (along with everything else).
