Presumably you would object to Joss's effort ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Naylors-Run-.../dp/B00004CTV7 ) on the same basis?
Good luck to him - whats the problem?
He's recognised nationally as an explorer/adventurer, so I hardly think a Bob Graham documentary following him is going to encourage the masses to follow suit...
'That's what you get when you suffer - you get results'
As someone 6 weeks away from an attempt ( ), i'm kind of impressed that he sees it as a challenge comparable to some of the others he's done - although that also makes me nervous...
I wonder who'll be quicker - ST or Sir Ran? I can guess who'll have spent the most on their attempt
Keep us posted ST - after Old County Tops on Sarurday I'm just beginning to realise the sheer enormity of the challenge you're taking on.

Aye good luck ST. And good luck to Sir Ran, if ever there was a great role model for the children it must be Ran, real boys own life. Hope you both complete safely.
Ta fellas
Agree about Sir Ran - there's a man with an awesome list of achievements.
As for who will be quickest, so long as i;me quicker than 23:59:59.9999, I'm not bothered
Off to support a BGR attempt at the weekend, legs 2 and 3. Exciting stuff!
ST
Hmmmm....
Guess I did sound rather cynical & somewhat disparaging too...
and as one who has shared the odd long cold dark night with Sir R & his pals, I’d agree he is a good bloke, and an excellent mole rodel to the young of all ages!!
Best of Luck to Sir R & ST, and Geoff B & Dan R and the others bent on a BG this year…….. it’s a cracking route!
I'll certainly see some, if not all, of you along the shining path...
Miss Muddy Paws Dad....
Not clever & often stupid..
