Hi all,
Was wondering which to go for:
Polar RS300X Heart Rate Monitor
Garmin FR60 Forerunner Fitness Watch with Heart Rate Monitor – Red
I'm newish to running and am getting fit for 4 Para. At the moment I returning to training after some random virus knocked me for six the over the last 3months.
Training program.
Monday - running 4-6miles depending on how cold it is/ my level of motivation
Tuesday - rest
Wednesday - 45min cycle to Uni, 20min cycle to dojo, 3hours of martial arts training 45mins cycle home
Thursday - rest
Friday - hill reps 3 x 3sets then finish a cycle of Greenwich park.
Saturday - swim 3:1 laps of breath-stroke to front-crawl for 15mins then 10mins of 1:1 then 10mins 1:1 back and breath. 1 hour of dynamic weights
Sunday - rest?
Sunday -cycle to climbing wall. climb, cycle home
Basis this which of the above HRM is best? The garmin seems to be MAc friendly, but the polar has interval training which is really import for running as I get more for less.... I think... cheers all:thumbup:
comments on training program would be helpful too. right now I have to pass a mornings fitness (pull-up, jerry can race etc) then a 3/4 warm-up then 1.5miles under 9mins 30sec. After that it gets much more serious. I took the initial test and as I had been training on a running machine got owned on the 1.5miles and ran it in 11mins, but think it is definitely doable with the right training program.
