2011 Inter-Counties?

I think the idea is that it moves around, Hutton Roof 2 year ago, Clywdian Hills last year and Scotland 2011. It could be worse in mileage terms let's face it - I'd fancy somewhere in Sutherland given the choice

Hi Trevor,

I'm not on the CAU committee - I have just had some input in to getting a junior version of the senior race going. I've just had a look at Inter Counties XC from last year - no teams in seniors so I doubt they do - I think the travel cost makes it difficult.

Not 100% sure, but I think it does move around as there are Scots and Welsh involved as well as perhaps Northern Irish.

The last 2 years were at Hutton Roof and Clwydian Hills, which is why I think it is in Scotland - it could be worse, it could be on Mull!

Why is the inter-counties championship being held in the far north of the country? Peebles must be something like 400 miles from the south (Gloucestershire, Wiltshire etc.). I hope that people enjoy the northern-counties championships.

Why would anyone want to drive 400 miles for a 7 mile fell race? This doesn't make any sense.

It's over twice as long as Devil's Beeftub...

Makes perfect sense to shift it around, it was good to see Black Mountain's used last year and a few more northern scotland champs races would be ideal...Glen Clova was great.

with regard to things like b&b's etc, would you suggest anywhere? or would it be better to find someone where in say edinburgh and then drive out?
