    Brown Willy

Hi guys, I am new to the forum and getting back into running, I am slowly working my way back to fitness and did my first triathlon this year and a couple of weeks ago did the full monty cute, I know not a fell run but a good muddy/icy/hilly jaunt on my door step here in the South, I was going to run the Brown Willy on January 1st and wondered if anyone else here had done it and what to expect.

Is it really called the Brown Willy?

Bit too for from Leeds despite it being a free race but I'm sure it'll be a good un.

Dont worry I was expecting it and was looking forward to seeing if there was anything forthcoming that hadnt already been said by my local mob!!! Just wanted to know if anyone here had done it or knew anything more than is published on the interweb.

Cracking run. Nice and informal (no race numbers or times) have done 10 of the last 11 in various states of disrepair. Last sprint up the road is a bit testy but soon over. Jamaica Inn's a good pub too. Some fences and stiles to hurdle. Recommended.

I did Brown Willy plus all the other 'tops' on Bodmin back in September (around watching the two westcountry stages of the Tour of Britain) and was staggered by the height of heather moving away from the main trods. If the ground is still frozen, there'll be some rough lumps and bumps on normally boggy bits, if its thawed, most of your landings (should you stumble) will be soft, cold and wet. Amazing tors, stone circles and old settlements if you get time to look.
    A circular route mostly downhill
