Xmas on the Moors 18 Dec

Escape the Christmas mayhem with a run round the Haworth Hobble course in about 8 hours. It will feature as a short race (32 miles) in the 2011 UK ultra-running championships. Cafe stop at Hebden Bridge, then back for dusk to see Haworth’s Christmas lights.

You can do only part of the course but please make your own transport arrangements.

Meet 8-15 am at the top of Butt Lane, Haworth (Saturday 18 December)

Hoorah!! I do intend to make it this year providing Settle doesn't get snowed in again!! I was gutted last year to miss it and consequently suffered on the real day of the race -not knowing all those sneaky ginnels/twists and turns was a real disadvantage. Thanks MountainMan for organising again-see you on the 18th!!

Is that a steadyish 4mph? So no speedsterism going on? Hmm, fancy the real thing in 2011, could be an ideal recce...

Yeah it will be a steady run. It's a fairly fast route so it will be about 5 mph in the first half, slower plus a stop in the second half - all subject to the weather of course. Hope to see you there PB.

I'm up for this too. Hebden cafe stop and Haworth Xmas lights clinched it for me. See you there, Chris

I could see me doing a portion of it, then heading back - don't think that I'm up to running the whole thing just yet. But, i can read a map so bailing half way round or whatever wouldn't be a problem.
But I think there's other recces, and then I can look forward to the whole thing in March..!

Thanks for the other post MM - I hadn't seen this thread. I'll be there if I can (the early start'll be a shock to the system though!)

I'll be there - did it last year in the snow and what fantastic views coming back down to Haworth - magical. The pace is very steady, lots of stops to look at the vew - you dont get chance on the HH! It took us about 7 hours last year.
Let's have a few more this year

I'll be there if I possibly can. I put my back out on Friday doing nothing at all & had to pull out of a run yesterday. I can just about walk at the moment! It's better than it was though, so I may be OK by next weekend.
