Love handicap races - lets hope last years' results lead to a good start time...
This year's Jarrett Jaunt Handicap Race takes lace on Sat 7th March.
Handicaps have been published, along with the request to let me know if you are coming and do not appear on the handicap sheet.
http://www.c-f-r.org.uk/ for main CFR site
http://c-f-r.org.uk/node/3538 for race details and handicaps.
Looking forward to a close finish.
Looking at the handicap times, it would appear that I have clearly had some great races recently. I will just have to work hard to catch those ahead of me. And will try not to look over my shoulder - well not until near the top of the chimneys.
Anyone else going?
Jennings, I'll probably be there. Will CFR be putting a route map up on their website?
Gaw - map on the web site - personal technical challenge - will try to see what I can do.
Route starts from the bridge at the bottom of Wath Brow NY 032 145,
Up the road past the white pump house - to thetop of Nannycatch lane NY 043 139.
Onto the open Fell - summit of Flat Fell - 053 137. Then NE towards the sheepfold at 056140 - not a checkpoint. This is to avoid the crags. It drops you into Nannycatch Beck. This part will be flagged.
Along the footpath southish, through Nannycatch gate - 055129, south along the valley , then up "the Chimneys" towards the forest stile at 046 126. Start of Chimnays flagged.
Both summits of Dent, then down through the trees and you pop out near the start/finish. This bit will be taped.
Note CFR Tuesday night headtorch run is going round the course this Tuesday. http://www.c-f-r.org.uk/runs
But most importantly, what does the A stand for in GAW?
Thanks Andrew.
Well, there's a clue to the A in GAW!
