Entries are open.... I'm in!
Missed it last year as wanted to give the Edale Skyline a try, but no clash this year, and as good as good as the Skyline was, this is better in my opinion anyway!
Appears to be full already!
What?! Oh well, that's that decision made then
I was under the impression that it didn't usually fill up? Although it has been in the Runfurther Ultra series (only place a 32 mile race is classed as "short"!!) so that might have an effect.
I know the Lakes Mountain 42 has had an similar upturn in entries since it's been in the Series (seems to get around 150 now, and was less than 50 when i first did it in 2016).
All the same, the Hobble is a fantastic race and it's worth sneaking around on here and Facebook as there's bound to be a dropout...
The Hobble has been in the Ultra Runfurther thing (as a ‘short’) since the start and possibly as an ever-present. A Karen Nash or a Britnick would know much better than me. I’ll not be there this year but have unfinished business at one of my favourite days of the year
Unfinished business is a good word for this race. Ran it in 2016 and after a spectacular crash after Heptonstall i staggered home in 6-11. The year after was undoubtedly fitter, but ran with a heavy virus and was 7mins slower. Hoping for a significant pb this year, really i'm hoping to push on towards 5-30.
No doubt i'll look back on that bold prediction with embarrassment in a few weeks time...
Race starts at Mankinholes YHA
A friend told me ‘run as hard as you can for as long as you can. Then hang on’
I’ve done eight and always forget how hard the ground is even in a relatively wet year
