    Haworth Hobble

Anyone doing it? Anyone looking for a partner? 31 miles, 4400 feet, early March. Can be done solo or mainly, it appears, in teams of two. I'd prefer the latter given the choice but just lost my partner (without even being careless, too.)

Do you mean it was pre-meditated then?

Me and Moth are entering it. I did it a couple of years ago. Tough, but worth the effort.

is this similar to the old Howarth Hobble? Did that a lot of times, mostly as training runs but raced it a few times as well.

Sorry Divot, can't actually be of any help, but i did want to say its a great run. I did it the first year you could enter solo. i couldn't find anyone else who thought it normal to run 30+ miles for fun. it was my third fell race ever, having only done ilkley moor and midgley moor before - both around 5 mile races! i walked the 30-mile route the week before because i had never walked/run more than 13 miles before in my life and didn't know whether i could manage!

and of course the organiser is a wonderful chap.
Why walk when you can run.

    Re: Wuthering Hike

I once ran partnered the winner of Leeds and other marathons in the HH and he dropped out at Mankinholes. I had been pushing all the way wondering when he would start running well as he could destroy me then but that was one of the first signs he had that he was going to need heart bypass surgery within the next few months. Still finished sub 5 but did not count as were were no longer a 2 man time. In fact all 3 times I raced it I was sub 5 which I think was the limit for the Elite category. Only time I have been elite in my life. Happy days.

Great, goes past my house up Heptonstall Road so I can shout abuse and throw rotten vegetables....unless of course I am 1/2 tour of Pendle-ing it, or Windmills Whizzing it!
