I am in! It will be the longest race I've ever done so should be a good day out, i am feeling up for it after sub 4 at the Hebden and good winter training. Might even ease up a little the week prior to the race.

We're like a lot of silly people on a list.

Oh, sorry, just realised that was a rhetorical question.

But we're still silly... every time I do the Hobblihike, I reach Hardcastle Crags and promise myself that this is last time and I'll NEVER do it again.

Tussockface - think I'll try to join you in the eating competition & a chinwag on the way round amongst friends is what it's all about.

I am assuming that the category for mixed (F/M) teams should be X? For some reason, we are listed as "F", although we have an "F" and and "M" next to our names (# 833).

Also, do you know if there is anywhere to leave a bag at the start (no valuables, just some food and warm clothes)? We are car-sharing, but might find ourselves arriving earlier or (more likely) later than our driver.

Where's the best place to park for this? (Want to avoid the notorious clampers but not sure where their car parks are.)

I try to drive past the primary school, downhill and park on that road side (no idea what it is called)
pavement, stone wall and park over the wall and down a big drop into a park and I think the secondary school

Parking - our friendly clampers have the car park on Changegate opposite Edinburgh Woollen Mill.
If you park on Rawdon Road - the one that goes past the school - make sure you don't park towards the bottom where it's residents only.
The health centre opposite the school is pay and display at weekends - no clamping!
They may have the school football pitch set up for parking - heading down the hill, Rawdon Road, there is a left turn immediately after the pelican crossing down a cobbled road called Butt Lane. After the community centre on the left there is an un made road turning. If they have it open for parking there will be people to guide you in from there.

The school is open all day, you can leave bags etc and there'll be tea, coffee and some lovely food at the end
