yes but it was a little too warm for a skiing trip, It's much colder and snowier in the peak than it was in the Alps.
I did two runs whilst I was there. the first took me 1500ft up a road and track in shorts and vest until I was well above the snow line when the sun went down.

    2) bear in mind lots of climbing still after leaving Stoodley Pike
    3) two trickiest bits to navigate are just after leaving golf club and when you're crossing road in Hebden Bridge before going up to Heptonstall
    4) they have the weakest tea in the world at Mankinholes YHA c/p
    5) if you get lost Keighley and Craven AC vests are red, white and green hoops so follow one of those!
thanks for tips derby tup, will go with kcac maps on website. We were thinking of starting a recce from widdop reservoir on sat at about seven. thinking we should be able to follow a fe up to that point then if we doing well on day we can make a dash for it from there (so to speak!)

Marko, worst part is probably coming off Stoodley Pike on Pennine Way but apart from that a lot is on good trails. I wear trail shoes as my thinking is comfort is more important than grip!

It was a bit damp last year but there were loads of runners in flats. they were obvious because they kept falling over

If it's dry you might risk it, I think fell shoes are over the top but a comfy pair of trail shoes should see you through.

I hope the trails are dryer than they were for the relays.

Is there a text description of the route available anywhere please? I thought I had one last year but I may be misremembering.

    Cheers.
