Ok so in your opinions what's the best shoe to go for at the moment...for general fell/trail running on steep rocky/muddy/grassy terrain?
Was going to get the Mudclaw 333's but they had sold out.
Thanks

Well this thread went down like a lead balloon!
I know shoe choice is a very personal thing but...
Any recommendations for a good all round shoe...looking at Inov8s and there's so many to choose from

X talons for me light responsive and minimalist. Had some 333 but they tore my calves to shreds. No such problems with the x talons 212.
Innov8 Mudclaw 270s or whatever the number is now. The red ones anyway. Big grip and mine fit like a glove. If you're after something with a bit more cushioning that would be suitable for trails as well as pure fell stuff you could try Salomon's Speedcross 2s... they're somewhere between a fell shoe and a trail shoe.

Mudclaws when its winter and muddy Walshes for summer and Talons for racing
No offence intended but,
This went down like a lead ballon because there must be 3,090 threads about exactly the same thing, in addition asking something so vague
will only illicit responses that are sure to offer no help in your quest for a shoe.
may i suggest you go to a shop/or tell us exactly where it is that you do most of your running then meaninglful help may be given. otherwise just go for the pretty colours

the way I look at it, there's only two or three shoes that are actually capable of handling steep fell terrain at speed, whether it's mud, rock, whatever: Walshes, Mudclaws and X-Talons (by all accounts, never tried 'em). So them's your choice.
Think these would be fine for yer matey!!
