Many thanks to the race organisers and helpers. Great weather, for the race once again. Last weekend in January is always good it would appear. A good field of 88 turned up. And speaking of fields, Joe Richardson is the farmer who allows the race to start on his land. Very kind of him.
Chris Steele was on for breaking his record and left the field with a good lead, presumably on schedule until he had to cut the steps up the back of Sharp Knott in the snow.
Many thanks to the bloke three places in front who went nice and slow up the snow steps, allowing the enormous queue behind him to rest.....
Some impressive drifts on the way back down, disappeared up to the thighs several times, a good couple of screams from around and "gentle" tumbles.
The racing in Cumberland land moves down to Cleator Moor next Saturday for a handicap race, today's times used to inform the handicapper, so I should finally get a good handicap.

I suspect that was me (judging by the speed you passed me at part way up) but if it was at least I got you back later.....
