    European trial

The final details of the courses etc for the European Championship trial/McCain grand prix/UKA mountain running championships on 12 June are now on the FRA and UKA web pages - there have been some slight changes to the route first put up, so the ones on from 2 June 2011 are the correct ones

Sarah - Senior Mens looks short - the extra loop over Latrigg is only around 2.0K so 8.9K for the Senior Women + 1 lap is 10.9K.

Whether that matters or not, I don't know.

    Re: European trial

Hats off to everyone. When I was stood at the bottom of Jenkins Hill looking up, I didn't envy what they had ahead of them.

My "runner of the day" has to be Dom Mahoney in the U20 Men. Still a rookie, the day after a 9:09 3K at the County Schools and still an U17 on the track and he put in a phenomenal performance on terrain the likes of which he hadn't encountered before. But for a fall just short of the summit he would have been much closer to Gary who battled all the way up with Dom.
It was a great battle to watch and well done to the pair of them.

Also the U20W - the front 3 pushed each other all the way and all at the bottom of the age group as well. Very proud of WPette for pushing all the way.

Didnt realise you were there as well Richard. Agree re Dom Mahoney, I think its an imposing course to race hard for gnarly seniors let alone fresh faced lads! Tremendous. Great to watch such quality runners performing, although frankly didnt see that much once out of range but impressive stuff.
