Re: Ultra Tour Du Mont Blanc 2

As Boy Wonder posted, I'll be there.

Rhayader seemed more important to me than UTMB, so I'm hoping to not go at this one too hard. I also need to be in form for the Plumlumon Montrail race so I can't beast myself...

....but I know that when I get that headtorch on, I'll feel the need to unleash the yoor.

Have a good race everyone. I'll be in an orange Montrail top and a Union Jack buff.

Good luck! I hope it doesn't come to the crawling stage!

    Good luck Saz!

Heard that Val Ferret has recent snow quite low down, you might have to dig out the snowshoes!

Does anyone have any good suggestions for accommodation? Are the campsites likely to be full and is there one near the start / finish?

This is all a bit last minute for me...

Stayed at Les Moliasses camp site last week, near the main road just as you enter Chamonix. About a fiver a night and cracking showers. Shouldn't be full esp with the current weather. Recommended.

Don't know how relevant this is but I've just got back from Verbier (not that far away from Mont Blanc) after doing the Grand Raid Cristalp bike race and the weather was largely sunny. Apparently they had had a snow fall about a week before we went out but there was not much sign of it early this week.

Good luck to all taking part.
