yes, just looked at the link and the profile. Well you can't beat a challenge. Will pencil it in and see if things fit round it.

Loved Buxton when it was a 5.30 pm start on the Saturday. Official race starter then was Ken Dodd!

I remember that. I walked into a pub afterwards, and the entire pub started whistling cowboy tunes 'cos I was walking a bit funny (could have been worse, could have been village people)

I think Buxton's got 1500' climb, Oldham's got 1200'. If anybody fancies Hendon Brook next week, that's got 2000'.

Andy, the Eyam website says that there is 1200 ft of ascent for the Eyam half Marathon but the Buxton site says the Buxton Half Marathon is 1509 ft so I’m wondering where you have got your figures from?

My impression was that Eyam was always a minute or two quicker than Buxton - I've just looked at recent times and this seems to hold up - must be the weather!

The entry was posted yesterday, so looking forward to it (in a perverse way, obviously).

Great course. enjoyed the run but not the strong easterly!

After 3 miles there is a long, long stretch traffic free, (turning off axe edge into the headwind) then after 9 a flat tarmac road that gave the chance to get into a rhythm again to pick some time up.

Great finish through the gardens and in front of the pavillion, waiting for the band to play at the bandstand.

Look forward to doing it again next year, without strong winds.

Well done top buxton ac, good turn out of marshalls ensured things went smoothly.
