Wow what a race.Big thanks to marshalls and organisers.

A tough race for me today. Felt like sh%t most of the way round. The heat at the start did me in and I was just pleased to finish! Nearly pulled out too many times!! Amazing running from top runners. Well done to Ali Raw coming back from injury for first V40. Fantastic result!

Thanks to folk for keeping me going including huwski and lovely scottish calder valley lady.

Great run by Ali Raw today - coming straight back after injury...

Just looked at photo's again - Mr Briggs appears to have what looks like a winners envelope under his arm too - Well done Geoff.

Barry Wilkinson (Borrowdale) had another good run too - how does someone manage to perform at that high level in such a short time? Amazing.

how much time do you think the new start made to the finish time
I am no too sure of the exact (old) starting route. But I have put into memory map what i think it would be and the shortened race yesterday was shorter by 0.35 miles and 30 feet.

Bymy estimate on both anquet and by talking to some of the faster boys the course yesterday will have been about 3 minutes shorter - 1/2 mile and 50m hight gain ish. Excelent well organised and good atmosphere race again thanlks to everyone involved.

Results are done, and will be put up on the Duddon Valley website within the next day or two:

Well done to all those who took part! Lots of fast times on this tough course, especially as quite a few did Jura the previous weekend. Many knackered faces at the finish, and some unprintable replies when I asked finishers whether they'd enjoyed it.............

Apparently quite a few runners in the short race had trouble finding the first checkpoint (a quarry building) - some spent ages but never found it........ Know he feeling.

Thanks for offering drinks & food, Huwski.

Great race, but a bit hot at the start. I was probably about 200th at the top of Harter, but started picking people off after there as I began to feel stronger & just managed to sneak into the top 50. The envelope was for 5th Vet 45 - I couldn't believe it!!
