    Spartathlon 2012

Got my eye on this one, but was hoping for some advice. To qualify, I have to have completed:

    1) A 100km race in under 10.5hrs; or
    2) A 200km race, no time limit.

For the 200km, I'm looking at the 145mi GUC Race May 2012, but that's more for the experience as this won't be in enough time to get my entry in (Spartathlon in Sept/Oct time).

So I was wondering if anyone could suggest a 100km race on a relatively easy course so's to give me the best chance of doing within the 10.5hr limit. I was even toying with the idea of doing it on a track with independent adjudication.

    Any ideas?

    Ta muchly.

There's a 12 hour race back and forwards over the Humber Bridge in July. Not sure if they provide split times, but it sounds quite an easy course to get 60 miles in

Cheers OB, looks promising, if maybe a tad too much dependent on the weather conditions!

Boston and District A.C., in my neck of the woods organise a 6hr / 12hr race each year. It's run around a mile tarmac loop in a country park and takes place on the Sunday of August Bank Holiday weekend. I understand they're running a 100k option this year too. Contact details will be on their website.

Iain, thanks, but not enough notice (for family arrangements or training!).

Empty, I'll look into that, cheers.

    Hi

Would they accept either a trailblaze route:

    http://www.trail-blaze.com/race-finder.asp?clear=1

Or a route logged on Sportstracklive:

    http://www.sportstracklive.com/track...h/trail/135079

Both would show you had done the neccessary and you could do them to suit yourself.

Sorry James, missed your reply originally. Not sure about SportsTrackLive (looks a bit like Garmin Connect? How does it work?), but that Trailblaze thing looks interesting, and not just for what I'm looking at.

Unsure on either front but will look into it. Thank you.
