Whilst it did make me proud to be British, the cynic in me reflected that it's a shame one of the few things we can still get right are outdated and arcane ceremonies.

So let's trash the pyramids and throw up a shopping Mall. Perhaps we can also make Stonehenge in to a Centre Parcs?

The point I'm trying to make is that history has it's place, it can enrich us, and the opinion that something is outdated is often made to quickly - if it works, it's not outdated surely?
