a guide to lakes scree runs

    evening all

I love scree running. With this in mind, and as a relative newcomer, I am seeking help to compile a list of races with a significant section of scree running in them. I am mostly interested in Lakes races but welcome worthy contributions from further afield.

Then I will go and run them all. Well that's t'idea..

I will start with Farleton Knott (Bofra race in July).

    Thanks for any contributions

Random factoid: technical term for scree is "talus" and the talus is the bone I injured in my foot last monday!

I ran and ran until my Muscles burned and my veins pumped battery acid, ....And then i ran some more.

I'd suggest bofra Wasdale Show to add to Kilnsey and Farleton Knott, lots of opportunities to gain advantage by taking a more dangerous route. Bring some gardening gloves to protect your hands.

advantage by negotiating rock climbs or steep unstable slopes, where dislodged stones may fall on those

    A list with zero entries?
I guess that would be partly why they're all BOFRA races thus far...

Really? Are there scree runs in Cumbria?

You mean those races that are easy pickings for elite runners?

I wonder how long it took to form a scree like Dore Head Screes above Mosedale in the Lake District? Tens of thousands of years? Then we arrive on the scene and completely destroy that landscape in no time at all...just for fun. Not reet is it...? I'm as guilty as anyone for damaging such a fragile environment.
