Yes, and sometimes it might be justified - eg if specialist materials are used. That doesn't apply to these running shoes though, which just have less of the same....

I hadn't realised the mid sole was different. Can you explain?

They're still great shoes and a good transition/longer distance minimal shoe for me.

The sole of the us versions doesn't look very good at all for UK conditions IMO.

Look at the difference between the male and female shoe. The female shoe has the original midsole, whilst the male shoe has the midsole of the 840.

I see, the ladies version appears to have the US sole too. I saw a lady wearing a pair at Edale and they appeared to be the same as mine only pinkish. Maybe they used the US pic?! I could be wrong...

I checked it out and read in the comments below the irunfar preview of the MT110 that the difference is only 1mm in heel drop between the US and International versions of the MT101. I sooner have the superior grip than lose 1mm.

Regardless of all that they're very good shoes and much cheaper than inov8s!

Mind you those Hattoris look pretty sexy are they as flimsy feeling as five fingers? I had a look at a pair of them and couldn't imagine splashing that kind of cash on them...
