    help sought for July 14

As the weather looks bad at the weekend, I'm going to go for this tomorrow (Thursday 14th). Don't have pacers/navigators, so will solo if necessary, but if anyone wants to come out and help that would be great. I'm planning on setting off at midnight tonight for a 23:30 clockwise - would especially like company for legs 1, 5 and end of leg 4. Best way to contact me is my cell +1 808 520 3680 (text or voice) but you can also call this at land-line rates on +1 202 630 0453. Otherwise e-mail kaiser AT hawaii DOT edu

    Many thanks in advance!
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

You are probably in an unusual situation in that you probably only have a very small window of opportunity and want to make the very best of your attempt.

I speak only for myself, but I personally wouldn't make any big decisions based on a weather forecast.
In fact I do try to studiously ignore them these days.
Also, having looked at the weather forecast, I wouldn't say that that one was particularly bad. It's going to rain in the Lake District - surprise surprise!
I would have loved to have helped, but 12 hours notice would be pushing it too much!

Good luck, and please let us know how you get on.

Conditions were good, but my legs weren't up for it - steadily lost time and by leg 3 it was clear I wasn't going to finish in 24, so I quit at Wasdale.

Thanks to all for advice and help.
    Nick

    Sorry to hear that, Nick.

I would imagine it would have been fairly warm on leg 3.

    All the best,

    Mark.
