    This Year's Reservoir Bogs.

Hi all, fairly new to this racing malarkey, noticed this one (Reservoir Bogs) on another website and quite fancy it. Well, it fits in with my idea of picking races with appealing names and it's fairly local!
But, other than the basic distance and rough amount of climb, I know nowt. Can anyone tell me a bit about it???

The course changes every year and its navigationally based....the first 2 runners last year went totally different ways to the first checkpoint!
Trying to plod up hills every day slightly faster than the day before

Yes, navigation is needed but as Nav races go it's not usually too onerous (usually about 5 checkpoints).

Very helpfully, previous maps are available here so you can get an idea of the kind of route we're likely to have: http://www.cvfr.co.uk/Races/3day/Res_Bogs/bogshome.htm

I think the name of the race suggest where part of the route may follow.

    BillJ,

Just imagine you haven't read this......Couldn't think what you might come up with if you thought the route might be compromised!!!!!

I reckon its a top route this year . Navigation not difficult but plenty of route choice.

Over the last few years its probably got a little longer and tougher each year; and its at its peak this year.

Having said that, its not as wickedly cruel as the route was 2 years ago, though.

Thanx for all the replies, it's definitely got me interested. I'm going to assume the bogs add a bit of comedy for all us runners who are there just to finish!

I can't wait for this, just hope my gammy leg heals up in time. If you do this, make sure you do the other two races in the series as well!

(Strangely, I don't remember much in the way of bogs in any of the previous runnings! Head high ferns yes. And last year, trip wires. It's great!)
