Well done to the organisers. There must have been nearly as many marshals as there were runners. A tough little trail race, eyeballs out and all runnable. Better choice of footwear required next time......my mudclaws didn't see much mud or grass.

See the light in the night
With massive thanks and respect to the Darwen Dashers, from this year they have renamed the Tockholes race to the " Don Ashton Memorial Tockholes Evening" fell race, in memory of my late Grandad who passed away last August.
We have also been supported hugely by Norman Walsh UK, who are providing 2 vouchers for free Walsh fell shoes - for 1st male and 1st lady. I will also personally donate a 3rd voucher which will be used as a spot prize on the night for one lucky person who stays behind for the presentation and has their race number drawn out!
Other prizes include specially commissioned Darwen Tower paintings, clothing from Lake District brand, Ascendancy Apparel and a special trophy for the first Vet 50.
Registration from the Rock Inn, Tockholes from 6pm on Thursday 6th July 2017. £5 entry on the night, same route as last year, hopefully the same weather too!!
Slate coaster to each runner upon entering, for the first 90 entrants.
I've been spoilt for prizes on this one too. 3 pairs of Walsh shoes up for grabs, £25 John Lewis voucher, £15 Up & Running voucher, HD Waterproof action cam (basically a GOPRO!), sports massage session, whisky and more.
I will also be selling Walsh footwear on behalf of Norman Walsh UK, who have done special race prices for us. PB's (slight seconds) for £30 and over runs of casual trainers for £20.
Please do car share where possible as Tockholes is only a tiny place.
Registration opens from 6:15pm tomorrow night, see you there
Huge thanks to all who attended last night's race.
99 runners, a huge increase on the 62 in 2016. Race was won by Jack Hindle of Blackburn Harriers and Kirsty Hall (who also set a new course record).

See you all next year
