Inov-8 Mudclaw 272

Another Inov question

I wore the originals Mudclaw 270 size 9 and these fitted perfectly and were great

i then bought an newer version of the 270 size 9 and these are slightly too big and give me shoking blisters

I now would like a new pair and the option is the 272 - the question is do these fit as the original 270 or slightly bigger as the older versions of 270?

Also anyone know where they are sold at a reasonable price?

I don't have anywhere near me to try any on so have to rely on internet shopping!

If you were happy with 270's why don't you just get another pair of them? I'm sure it'll be pretty easy to find them at a good price.

I found my 272 wider and longer than my original mudclaws

they;re also minus two studs after doing Wasdale yesterday...being grippy is one thing, but fit for purpose is arguably more important !

Seeing as Inov-8 have messed around with the sizing of all their shoes, I would go for an 8 1/2. I used to find that the 9 in a 270 were perfect, but latest size 9 270s were sloppy - I guess the 272s are the same.

Somewhat suprised today to clean my Mudcalw 272 for the first time

removed the insole and my size 10.5 ( box and insole ) has "S11" printed in the shoe inner ????

what is going on ?

is this a factory mix up ?

or do Inov8 not do half sizes ?

anyone help please ?

It's funny, I wonder if Inov-8 recognise that the 272 is different (in terms of sizing) from the 270 and therefore market both a the moment? A quick google shows that the 270 is still very much available to those that want it.

What I will say is that the 272 is a revelation for me, they're the only aggressively-soled fell shoe that will fit my fat feet and I love them, even though the styling is a bit bling - Why don't they just make them in black? Regular mudclaws are too narrow, likewise 270s. Am about to buy a second pair as "dry" spares!

I've found that all the newer model of Inov8s starting from last year all seem to have gone a quarter size bigger.
